伍竹庵

竹。それは衣食住すべてに活用でき土にも還る、環境にやさしいサステナブルな素材。かつての日本は至る所に竹細工が溢れ、その恩恵で暮らしや地域の風土が支えられていたと言っても過言ではありません。しかしそれは高度経済成長期から現在に至るまで、日常から忘れ去られようとしつつあります。日本人の精神とも深く結びついた竹の存在はかけがいのないものであり、それを最も身近に感じられる竹細工は、どこまでも深い魅力に溢れています。 材料となる真竹は地域の山を整備しながら自ら採取しています。土は岩質で粘りが強いとされる竹林から良材を吟味し、水分量が少ないとされる新月の前後に伐採することにもこだわっています。 伍竹庵の「伍」には「仲間になる」という意味があります。昔ながらの道具を現在の暮らしに合うように再デザインし「使って楽しく」「眺めて美しく」「育てる喜びを感じられる」ような製品を目指しています。竹細工を使った健やかな暮らしから自然を感じ、皆さまにとって豊かな心の支えとなれることを願っています。 Bamboo is an environmentally friendly and sustainable material that can be utilized in all aspects of life: clothing, food, and housing. In ancient Japan, bamboo crafts were abundant, and it is not exaggerating to say that they supported the livelihoods and local culture. However, since the period of rapid economic growth, bamboo has been increasingly forgotten in our daily lives. The existence of bamboo, deeply connected to the Japanese spirit, is irreplaceable, and bamboo crafts—being the most accessible form—are filled with profound charm. The primary material, madake bamboo, is harvested sustainably by maintaining and caring for the local mountains. We are committed to selecting high-quality materials from bamboo groves known for their strong, cohesive soil, and we carefully harvest bamboo around the new moon, when the moisture content is believed to be low. The name "Gochiku-an" contains the meaning of "to join as companions." We aim to redesign traditional tools to fit modern life, creating products that are "fun to use," "beautiful to behold," and "offer the joy of nurturing."
